On February 23, AIR announced that Google had rolled back the Chrome OS 56 that contained the fix for the ELPA21 recorder issue due to internal production issues. • Data Entry Interface Now Open for ELPA21

The Data Entry Interface (DEI) is now open for Test Administrators to enter students’ responses to the ELPA21 paper and large print tests as directed in the Directions for Administration (DFA). A DEI User Guide is posted in the Resources section of the portal. A Training Module describing how to access and use the DEI is also posted in the Resources section of the portal. Test Administrators should enter students’ responses to the Listening, Reading, and Writing domain tests in the DEI after students complete the tests. Students’ responses to the questions in the Speaking domain test must be recorded directly into the DEI. Therefore, for the Speaking test, the Test Administrator will need to have the DEI open when the student takes the test. Students who take the paper or large print test must be coded “Yes” for “Paper Tester” in TIDE before their responses can be entered in the DEI.

The Braille DEI will open on Thursday, March 2. Students who take the Braille test must have an Accommodation Code of “101-Braille Test Booklet” in TIDE before their responses can be entered in the DEI.

  • TIDE Open for Additional ELPA21 Paper Test Orders

TIDE is now open for ordering additional ELPA21 paper testing materials. To order additional materials, click on the “Paper Ordering” tab in TIDE and then choose “Additional Orders.” The first time you log into the Additional Orders window you will be asked to verify your contact information. After doing that, select a school from the drop-down list and click “Search.” You will see a list of ELPA21 materials available to order including full paper tests, large print tests, and the K-1 paper/pencil writing supplement.  All districts should have already received a shipment of Kindergarten and Grade 1 supplemental paper writing tests. If you need additional Kindergarten and Grade 1 paper writing tests they can be ordered at this time.

In addition, the ELPA21 Blind/Low Vision (BLV) testing kits are available to order if a district has a student enrolled in Grades Kindergarten through 12th who is in need of a BLV paper/pencil test in either contracted or uncontracted Braille.  BLV testing kits should be ordered for only those specific students who are scheduled to be tested using a BLV form.

Please follow your state guidelines regarding which students are eligible for paper tests and only order materials for students who will use them. Materials will be packed by school and shipped to the District Test Coordinator. Please verify your district’s shipping address on the order page and have your District Test Coordinator contact the Help Desk if the address is not correct.
